Bed Pad - Reusable or Disposable?

Welcome to the world of bed wetting and incontinence. Fun stuff right? Well amidst all of the struggles of physical and emotional pains this might be of some use to you. This advice comes from someone who has been there and done that, and hopefully this will serve as somewhat of an ease to your mind in regards to your own unique situation.

It is a difficult decision to pick between reusable, also known as “washable” bed pads or the disposable option. Here are just a few benefits and negatives associated with each so that you might be able to make an educated decision on whichever is best for your lifestyle.

A washable bed pad is great in the sense that you are saving tons of money and you have more comfort associated with it. Purchasing two or three of these are great if you are rotating them quite frequently, so one can be in the wash while you are still under protection. At the same time, many people find the washing to be rather annoying, even to the point where it is almost as bad as washing the sheets and mattress themselves.

On the other hand, a disposable bed pad is very convenient but they are in no way cost efficient. If your budget will allow it though, and you feel that it would ease your mind enough to be worth biting the bullet, then just throwing away the mess and starting new is an ideal scenario. On the contrast, you also have issues of discomfort and irritation of the skin in some cases.

If you are truly interested in finding the best match for you, you should do what I did and try them both. While I favor the washable type of bed pad, there are some days when I take out some of my disposables for when I know I will be in a hurry or am going to have a busy week. Do whatever you need to do to ease your mind and get by. It does not have to be the end of the world, and I promise you, it is not.
